This iconic Portuguese car was built in Porto in 1928 to a design typical of American tramways and adopted extensively in Portugal. A semi convertible car - the side windows lift right up into the ceiling on warm days - the car was a long term target of the Tramway Sponsorship Organisation when it arrived at Crich in 1996 following contraction of the Porto system. Its significance in both European and American tramway history was recognised by the Heritage Lottery Fund who part funded the extensive restoration undertaken in the Crich workshops. It was completed in 2002.
